Hello and welcome to my website and e-folio.
This section outlines my journey as a music educator — from where it began in 2013 to where I am today.
My teaching career began when I returned to Malta in 2013, following my studies in Scotland and the UK. Since then, I have committed myself to delivering meaningful, inclusive music education across various levels — from state schools to the Malta School of Music and from young children to adult learners.
I started in primary education and gradually extended into secondary teaching, instrumental tuition, and adult education. Over the past twelve years, I’ve worked with learners from diverse backgrounds, adapting my teaching to suit individual needs and group settings alike.
My approach blends traditional and modern philosophies. I regularly apply Kodály, Orff, Dalcroze, and Suzuki methodologies in my lessons, particularly in areas like aural training, movement-based rhythm, ensemble work, and creativity. At the same time, I remain open and ready to explore newer methods and digital tools that meet the evolving needs of today’s students and reflect current trends in both education and the music industry.
Alongside classroom teaching, I’ve taken part in programme development and community events, helping to bridge formal education with cultural expression. Whether in a school hall, studio, or community venue, my aim is to create spaces where music is not only taught but also experienced, shared, and lived.
